The kitchen and porch are sagging in the Farmhouse. Once repaired the farmhouse will give many more years of usefulness to Camp.November/December will see some significant changes at Camp. Andy and Kelly Halbach will be here. They will be staying in the apartment and helping to do projects around camp.
The first and major project is the farmhouse. There have been many and differing ideas as to the usefulness of the farmhouse, but “need” trumps “want” and so we will be good stewards and maintain what we have. Therefore, we will be jacking the kitchen end of the farmhouse and doing “Paint and paper” inside.
We will also re-do the counter-tops and make them more of a “Sterile” surface, easier to clean. This is important for the Health Center and the children’s summer ministry.
Work that has already begun was done so by removing wallpaper/plaster. Priming. Killing the mildew/mold. Painting with mildew proof and mildew resistant paints.
The important thing here is safety and covering any lead paint, etc., that could harm children. Please look at the accompanying pictures for more explanation. If you would like to help via., donations: Finance or otherwise, please let us know.

This is the view looking from the kitchen to the living room.

We need to repair the Kitchen ceilings and walls.
-
-
Area around Kitchen chimney…once leveled, we can make repairs knowing that they will not be “undone” by further settling of the structure.
-
-
A tiled countertop will be installed thus making it easier to clean and keep sanitary.
-
-
The health Center is crowded and needs some repair work also.
-

This alcove off the kitchen will be repaired and a bed installed for patients.

The kitchen ceiling is in desperate need of work.

The walls of the farmhouse are painted in “Wordless book colors” this is from the living room…

All farmhouse trim will be white.

Basement junction box needs some work.
-

This is the only “Dry Rot” I found after crawling around under the farmhouse – this is not an “Emergency” repair.
-
-
The main basement foundation looks solid.
-
-
Just to much clutter.
-
-
Here is the foundation crawl space under the kitchen…

…and again…

These beams are solid and the structure has settled over the years.

We will jack it up, shim and tidy up wiring, piping, etc.

In the Spring we will give the Farmhouse a fresh coat of paint.
